Just a note to ask if you could drop by and fix the
running toilet.
It has been getting progressively worse over the last
few weeks to
the point today where it was running full out.
I took apart the valve in the tank to see if lime
deposit was
the culprit but aside from a bunch of black goo,
calcium deposits
were not the problem. Bending the float arm as an
option did not
solve the problem. It appears that not only has the
pivot bushing for
the arm has been worn enough to reduce leverage
pressure, but the
valve seat appears to have been compromised.
I feel no amount of superficial work can alleviate
this
defect. A full engineering report will be forth
coming next month
when our 12 man engineering review panel convenes
after hearing back
from a multi-disciplinary investigative research
inquiry team's
exploration into this pivotal (bad pun) disaster.
