It's
time again and the
monthly association meeting of our group has arrived. For
those of you new to this e-mailing here are the particulars.
Once
a month on the second Tuesday of each month a
like-minded group of real estate investors meet on the
second floor at Rosie’s Restaurant. Located at the corner
of 105 St. and 80 Ave. Arrivals at 6:30 and the
meeting starts at 7:00 pm. You are cordially being invited to
attend. Attendees are required to pay
$5 at the door. There is no annual membership charge yet. All
attendees and visitors are asked to buy $5 worth
of food to support the use of Rosie’s Restaurant
2nd floor meeting room, and please generously tip your
server, this helps to support our free use of the meeting
room.Please
bring a few of your used real estate or self help books that
you no longer require to donate to our library or door
prizes. If you park to the east of Rosie’s in the strip mall
parking lot, please pick up a free parking pass from the bar
to put on your windshield.
Each meeting is different as we may bring in special
guest speakers for each meeting. Each speaker is uniquely
qualified in his or her own specific field of expertise.
Even a seasoned investor will be pleasantly surprised with
the knowledge gained from attending our meetings. We
encourage all attendees to participate at the meetings by
asking our speakers your pertinent questions. We need and
appreciate your input at all meetings. Like-minded investors
can and do learn and help each other to achieve success.
We really do look forward to seeing you and please bring a friend to our

has worked as a City Assessor & Land Agent and has been
managing PTAS for 13 years. They have over 3000 clients and
primarily work from referral and a targeting process.
Property Tax Appeal Services has been operating in Edmonton
for over 15 years. They work in conjunction with the client
to review and appeal business and property taxes. Michelle
works within a law practice and has a team of other
consultants to work with on appeals. They call upon
Engineers, Appraisers and other experts as witnesses in the
appeal forum. They work for you the taxpayer to keep your
taxes as low as possible.
This
is another in our series of do not miss educational
seminars. You will receive a rare insight as to how your
taxes are arrived at and what you can do to fight
inappropriately high taxes!

the lower your taxes... the lower your expenses therefore
the higher your net operating income and the more your
property is worth!!!

Karen,
our chair opened the meeting at 7:13
p.m. using our new microphone system. She showed us
the tool of the month - a De Walt electric drywall
drill. The executive were introduced as a well, and
our new guests introduced themselves. Buy/Sell
followed. The treasurer’s report was given by
Lillian. Les gave us a market update. Our first
guest was Robert McLeod, and he specializes in Condo
conversions. He invests in his projects and some are
rental pools. He can arrange a group tour. Phone

Our
second Guest speaker was a top realtor Rhonda
Navratil, recently profiled in the Edmonton Journal.
She gave us many useful ideas in buying and selling
properties. She also had a couple of interactive
teaching sessions, using club members to do multi
offer sales.
Les
spoke about:
MLS 2006 sales broke all previous records. Single
family dwellings now average $341,000 up 2.36% in the
past month. Condos and duplexes were also up.
