It's
time again and the
monthly association meeting of our group has arrived. For
those of you new to this e-mailing here are the particulars.
Once
a month on the second Tuesday of each month a
like-minded group of real estate investors meet on the
second floor at Rosie’s Restaurant. Located at the corner
of 105 St. and 80 Ave. Arrivals at 6:30 and the
meeting starts at 7:00 pm. You are cordially being invited to
attend. Attendees are required to pay
$5 at the door. There is no annual membership charge yet. All
attendees and visitors are asked to buy $5 worth
of food to support the use of Rosie’s Restaurant
2nd floor meeting room, and please generously tip your
server, this helps to support our free use of the meeting
room.Please
bring a few of your used real estate or self help books that
you no longer require to donate to our library or door
prizes. If you park to the east of Rosie’s in the strip mall
parking lot, please pick up a free parking pass from the bar
to put on your windshield.
Each meeting is different as we may bring in special
guest speakers for each meeting. Each speaker is uniquely
qualified in his or her own specific field of expertise.
Even a seasoned investor will be pleasantly surprised with
the knowledge gained from attending our meetings. We
encourage all attendees to participate at the meetings by
asking our speakers your pertinent questions. We need and
appreciate your input at all meetings. Like-minded investors
can and do learn and help each other to achieve success.
We really do look forward to seeing you and please bring a friend to our

Carolyn Pratt – Edmonton Real Estate
Board President (2007)
2006 was the most remarkable year for real estate pricing of
any market in Canada. As some American Housing Markets
suffer, the unique Edmonton market continues to soar. The
President of the Edmonton Real Estate Board, Carolyn Pratt,
will present a recap of the 2006 market and her predictions
for 2007. She will update the forecast based on the
experience of the first quarter of 2007.
Carolyn Pratt has been a REALTOR® since 1976 and has
worked through decades of change in the industry. As a
residential real estate specialist she has embraced
technological changes and adapted her skills to an evolving
marketplace. However, her commitment to ethics and customer
service has never wavered.
Building on an Arts degree from the University of
Manitoba, Carolyn has parlayed her people skills into a
successful career. She has been awarded the EREB Medallion
Sales Achievement Award and was made a life member of the
Edmonton Real Estate Board in 2003. Her skills have also
been recognized with awards from her brokerage.
She served as President of the Edmonton REALTORS®
Charitable Foundation in 2000 and was elected to the EREB
Board of Directors in 2002. She has served on various
committees including Arbitration and Professional Standards,
Member Services, Awards, Political Action and the Audit
Committee. Carolyn has also contributed to the quality of
life in the community through involvement in service clubs,
political organizations and her condominium.
Carolyn’s has two adult children who are pursuing
careers in the medical profession.
We will also be talking about the real estate market, landlording,
present housing prices and trends for Edmonton real estate, and
many more topics. If you have any real estate for rent or
for sale please make up some hand outs to give to any
attendees and be prepared to stand up and tell us about your
handouts. Please network and socialize with the other
members and guests before and after the meeting. If you want

FROM OUR LAST MEETING

The
meeting was held upstairs in Rosie’s south side bar
& grill on March 13, 2007. Les opened the
meeting at 7:20 p.m. with a full house 66 in
attendance. The introduction of guests followed.
Lillian gave the treasurers report followed by the
reading of the minutes. Les gave us the current market
update as well of ways to find sellers of real estate.
He mentioned that you can list a “for sale or
rent” on www.craigslist.org
free for 45 days. Buyers must move fast in this
“sellers market.”Our
guest speaker was Erin Holowach from Comfree. She and
her husband have a very successful company with high
values. Staff is not permitted to purchase any Comfree
listing unless it is for their primary residence. They
have a staff of 35 and their market share is growing
quickly. They have a sign up list for automatic
notification of new listings. For more information you

am the Pastor, Chad fromEdmontonre.I
have wanted to come to the meetings but I have
meetings/rehearsals within my churchalmost
every Tuesday evening. I am trying to work it
out so I can come to one at least,I
really enjoyed it the last time. Things
are going well, I have bought and sold some contracts
this year, but I am lookinginto
buying and holding and also some apartment/fourplexes,
etc.Wondering
if I can throw some properties I am looking at your
way to get your advice andthoughts.
I would even like to go for coffee sometime and get
your thoughts, would yoube
available for this.I
also, even though I can’t come to the meetings very
